How Eli Manning’s NFL Draft power play is setting the table for a new QB drama, 20 years later

This year’s NFL Draft is fast approaching. The first round begins in less than a month in Detroit.

And while it’s all but certain Caleb Williams of USC will be the first overall pick for the Chicago Bears, now that they’ve traded Justin Fields to the Steelers, there’s already talk about the 2025 draft — and that’s due in part to Deion Sanders.

Sanders, the Hall of Fame defensive back turned outspoken college coach at Colorado, said Friday that his son Shedeur, the Buffaloes’ star quarterback, and Travis Hunter, the team’s standout cornerback and part-time wide receiver, would select the teams they play for — much like Eli Manning did 20 years ago.

Speaking on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast on Friday, Deion Sanders said, “I know where I want them to go,’’ in regards to next year’s draft.
