McDonald’s fans can get a Big Mac and fries for £2.99 every time thanks to a popular deal.

To get the offer, you have to purchase something from the fast food chain - then on your receipt, there will be a 12-digit code which you can enter online to fill out a survey. The survey can be accessed on the McDonald's Food for Thought website.

Once you’ve filled out the survey online, you’ll then be given a new five-digit code to get your £2.99 Big Mac and fries. The offer can also be used to claim a Filet-o-Fish, McChicken Sandwich, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, six McNuggets or the McPlant.

With each one, you get the choice of medium fries or a side salad. The deal used to cheaper at £1.99, but McDonald’s upped the price to £2.99 during November last year. But despite the increase, Maccies fans are still saving money. Prices do vary depending on which restaurant you visit, but when we checked several branches online today, the lowest price for a Big Mac on its own was £4.59.

McDonald's has just launched its new menu, with the fan favourite Chicken Big Mac, plus the Biscoff McFlurry Galaxy McFlurry and Galaxy Caramel Pie all returning. Maccies has also released a new Biscoff Frappe, new Cheese and Herb Melts and new Quarter Pounder Deluxe.

McDonald's also recently made some huge changes to its burgers for the first time in 50 years. McDonald's said that beef patties will now have "tighter sear" on the grill, resulting in "hotter and juicier" beef patties. White onions will now be added to the grill on top of the patties as they cook, for added colour and a better charred flavour.

Staff will now also use fresh lettuce straight from the fridge for "that extra snap, crunch, and clean taste". McDonald's restaurants in the UK will also have hotter beef patties meaning the cheese on top can ooze over the sides of the burger. What's more, burger lovers can expect a new "buttery" brioche-style buns.
