The US Supreme Court refused to undo a Texas death sentence even though a state court found concerning evidence that prosecutors discriminated against women in picking a jury.
The justices on Monday denied an appeal by Dillon Gage Compton, who argued that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals got it wrong when analyzing the state’s reasons for using 13 of its 15 peremptory strikes to exclude women from the jury at his murder trial.
