Sooners have an official visit scheduled with four-star edge rusher and USC commit

The Oklahoma Sooners have an opportunity to host an elite, blue-chip prospect for the second time this offseason. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, the Sooners have scheduled an official visit with four-star edge rusher Isaiah Gibson.

Gibson, who is committed to the USC Trojans, told On3 that he’s “keeping everything open.” The Sooners will host Gibson on June 21. In the weeks before his official visit with the Sooners, he’ll spend time with Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn and Florida.

Gibson was on campus for Oklahoma’s junior day at the beginning of February, and this gives the Sooners another opportunity to move the needle with the elite pass rusher.

He’s the No. 1 edge player in the nation, according to 247Sports, and No. 2 in On3’s recruiting rankings for the 2025 recruiting class. The talented edge prospect from Warner Robbins, Georgia, holds 31 Power Four offers and is a player every school will work to flip.

The Oklahoma Sooners hosted Isaiah Gibson for junior day in early February and will have him back on campus for an official visit on June 21. That’s the fifth in a series of visits Gibson will make this summer as he continues to explore his options.

Isaiah Gibson Scouting Report

Isaiah Gibson plays with good power off the edge, displaying a strong bull rush that he pairs well with the ability to beat opposing offensive tackles with speed. Gibson does a great job with his length to earn leverage despite playing a bit high in his pad level. He’s a really good athlete and plays with good speed. Gibson has a good get-off, and displays a shoulder dip to help bend the corner.

Predictions

Committed to USC, but with some of the top programs across the country set to welcome Gibson on visits, the needle could move away from the Trojans.
