Avon Police apprehend suspect for financial crime

On Thursday, April 25 just after 9 a.m., an EC Alert was sent out alerting residents in the 3000 block of Wildridge Road in Avon that there was police activity in the area. According to Avon Police Chief Greg Daly, the department apprehended a suspect regarding a financial crime on a senior victim.

Daly reported there was “no concern for public safety” and that it was “an isolated incident.”

The case is actively being investigated and the police department will be getting its FBI partners involved, he added.

Daly said the operation this morning was connected to a “financial crime” that occurred on Friday, April 19.

“The suspect involved attempted a similar financial crime on the senior victim a second time,” he said. “With that victim’s cooperation, we were able to mount an operation this morning and that suspect is currently in custody.”
