Michigan State Police release video of Lansing double homicide suspect arrest

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State Police (MSP) have released a video of the suspect in the April 18 double homicide being caught and arrested.

MSP released the video on Thursday, Thursday, on X, formerly known as Twitter. State police said the Special Investigation Section Detectives and the MSP Emergency Support Team made the arrest in Crego Park without incident.

On Monday morning, Lansing police said 51-year-old Dennis (Josh) Whaley, who is a suspect in the Thursday shooting that left two people—Jason McKenzie and Christine Cambric—dead at the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue, was found and arrested at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

On Sunday, Lansing police were at the cross streets of Foster Avenue and Elizabeth Street throughout the early part of Sunday morning, searching for Whaley, who was reportedly inside the home. Lansing police were at the house for close to nine hours trying to lure Whaley out of the house by firing tear gas canisters inside the house.

On Thursday, two people died in a shooting in Lansing. Lansing Police told News 10 they first responded to the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue in Lansing around 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 50-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman shot. LPD said they died at the scene.
