Pennsylvania State Police investigating Franklin County murder-suicide
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Franklin County.State troopers were called around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Lenwood Park in Southampton Township for a reported domestic altercation with shots fired."Upon arrival, members established a perimeter and began attempting to make contact with any occupants inside the residence. After multiple attempts resulted in no contact being established, the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was activated," state police said in a statement.The team entered the home and found a 60-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman dead inside. Their names have not yet been released. "Based on the results of the preliminary investigation, both deceased were found to have suffered gunshot wounds. An official cause of death is pending autopsy; however, this incident is being investigated as a homicide and suicide related event," PSP said.The deaths are the second murder-suicide this month in the Susquehanna Valley.On April 10, police found a husband and wife dead inside a home on West Sun Hill Road near Power Road in Penn Township, Lancaster County.
