Minor league report: Penguins fall to Wolf Pack, Nailers drop Game 1
Defenseman Jack Rathbone had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 road loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Friday.
Forward Austin Rueschhoff also scored a goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (38-24-8-1) while goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 32 saves on 35 shots as his record dropped to 25-12-6.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest in their regular season finale against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.
Notes:
• Penguins defenseman Taylor Fedun, who serves as team’s captain, appeared in his 500th career American Hockey League game.
• Forward Emil Jarventie and defenseman Kalle Kangas were released from their amateur tryout contracts in order to join Finland’s roster for the Under-20 Five Nations tournament which is scheduled to be staged April 17-21 in Poprad, Slovakia. Jarventie (No. 217 overall) and Kangas (No. 223 overall) were each seventh-round selections by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Forward Dillon Hamaliuk had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers who lost to the Indy Fuel, 5-2, in Game 1 of a Central Division semifinal series at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.
Defenseman Davis Bunz also scored a goal for Wheeling while goaltender Jaxon Castor stopped 26 of 31 shots.
