Narrative:A Van's RV-4 conducted a steep takeoff and departed controlled flight after an attempted turn to the runway at Tedderfield Air Park (FATA), Gauteng.
The pilot sustained serious injuries, the passenger was not injured and the aircraft received substantial damage.
