An Endicott man who was wanted on multiple felony charges for failing to register under the Sex Offender Registration Act has been located and arrested in Pennsylvania.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Jessie J. Barnum had been evading authorities for weeks before he was arrested on April 1st in Tobyhanna, PA. He was wanted on two separate counts of Failure to Register Under the Sex Offender Registration Act, as well as one count of Bail Jumping in the 2nd degree.

Initially, Barnum was wanted out of Broome County Court for absconding from pre-trial probation on one of the Sex Offender charges. Then, he failed to register his address and an additional warrant was issued by the Town of Union Court. The bail-jumping warrant came about for his failure to appear in Broome County Court.

Barnum was tracked to Forest City, PA, and there, officials learned he was likely with an associate in Tobyhanna. A vehicle belonging to the associate was located and during a traffic stop, Barnum was found hiding under a blanket in the rear of the van.

He was arrested and extradited back to New York to answer his charges in both Broome County and Town of Union Courts.
