Cold front coming; not as windy Tuesday
Temperature change will be subtle and most areas remain dry
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chances for thunderstorms will be back later in the week, including the risk of severe storms. While the exact timing isn’t completely clear yet, it look like the risk of severe storms will be back Thursday and Saturday.
Gusty winds should go down later tonight, and it won’t be nearly as windy for Tuesday. A cold front will move through early in the day, but the temperature change won’t be anything drastic. Much of the state will have highs in the low to mid 70s. Northeast winds will be running 10-20 mph.
A few sprinkles or showers could develop Tuesday night or early Wednesday. It won’t amount to much, but clouds will be hanging around throughout the day which will keep things a little cooler. Highs will be near 70.
Storms will be limited to south central Kansas and northern Oklahoma Wednesday night, but odds are better for rain coming later in the week. Thursday’s setup will favor most of the state as we head into the night. Some severe weather is possible over central and southern Kansas. There will be another round of storms Friday, but most of that severe weather chance will focus over the eastern 1/3 of Kansas. And more active weather is possible on Saturday.
