Overnight fire destroys Lansing home, costing $100,000 in damages

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -The Lansing Fire Department is investigating a house fire that occurred on the east side of the city overnight.

This home was located in the 300 block of South Eighth Street and Kalamazoo. The fire started around 12:50 a.m.

News 10 knows that one person was inside during the fire but was able to escape safely.

It has been reported that the house next door was also damaged as it was exposed to the heat of the flames, causing some of the siding to melt.

Lansing fire investigators hope to determine the cause of the overnight fire soon. The damage to the home is estimated at $100,000.
