Larry Wayne Robbins, 67, of Goodell plead guilty to possession of a firearm by an unlawful drug (marijuana) user on April 11 in a Sioux City federal court.
In a plea agreement, Robbins admitted he waived a gun at a neighbor in Hancock County while the individual was mowing a ditch approximately 300 yards east of Robbins’s house. An executed search warrant at Robbins’ home uncovered guns, ammunition, and marijuana.
Sentencing before a U.S. District Court judge will be set after a pre-sentence report is prepared. Robbins remains under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office until his sentencing. He faces a possible maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release after serving any prison time.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Fletcher. It was investigated b the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
