SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A deep southerly flow has established itself across the ArkLaTex and this overall pattern will remain in place for at least the next week. For us this means plenty of warm and humid weather on the way!

For tonight, we’ll see a partly to mostly cloudy sky and it will stay warm and muggy with overnight lows in the mid 60s.

Thursday will be another warm and muggy day with temperatures quickly climbing into the mid 80s by afternoon. It will also turn breezy with a south wind at 10-20 mph.

More of the same for Friday with very warm and muggy conditions across the ArkLaTex and a gusty south wind continuing. Late in the day, storms will fire off to our west along a dry line in Texas and Oklahoma and a few of these will attempt to move into the ArkLaTex by evening. Most of this activity will weaken as it arrives but a few strong to severe storms can’t be ruled out in far western and northern sections of the region.

Saturday is looking very warm and windy with highs soaring into the mid and upper 80s! The severe threat will shift further to the northwest and mostly out of the ArkLaTex.

Sunday into Monday will be the timeframe to watch as another round of more widespread storms arrives. Heavy rain will be the primary concern during this time but a severe weather threat also can’t be ruled out. Stay tuned for more updates on this as we get closer.

Have a great evening!
