Sage’s first set of charges stemmed from an early March 2024 investigation in which he was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a stolen car. Police later determined that the car was stolen from Courtesy Auto on John Fitch Boulevard.

Police said the vehicle was severely damaged as a result of Sage’s theft.

He was also found to have a crack pipe in the vehicle. Police said he drove the vehicle with a suspended license, and that the vehicle had a license plate on it that did not belong to it.

Additionally, Sage was arrested on a warrant from a late March 2024 incident in which he threatened to blow up the Tyler Regional Animal Care Shelter. Police said he also physically threatening a town employee who works at the shelter because his dog was quarantined for biting an officer on the previous incident in earlier in the month.

He was charged with second-degree criminal trover, use of drug paraphernalia, improper use of a marker plate, and second-degree threatening.

Sage was processed and held on a total bond of $10,000. He was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Tuesday.

If he bond out, police said he will appear in Norwich Superior Court on May 9 for a failure to appear arrest warrant.
