RAPID CITY, S.D. - Post 22 opened the season on Saturday evening by hosting Sheridan, Wyoming in a doubleheader at the Black Hills Surgical Hospital Ballpark.

The Hardhats are coming off 48-25 season.

But Post 22 has high hopes of competing for a state title this summer after returning several experienced players including eight seniors and two college freshman.

Sheridan pulled out a win in the first game.

After trailing 5-3, Post 22 tied it up at five a piece in the 6th inning.

However, Cael Hamrick hit a fielder's choice in the top of the 7th inning,  scoring one run and Sheridan held on to win, 6-5.

The second game was a different story.

Post 22 shut out the Troopers, 10-0 to split the doubleheader with Sheridan.

The Hardhats will host Sheridan again on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Outlaw Baseball Club sweeps Post 320

Rapid City Post 320 hosted the Outlaw Baseball Club from Miles City, MT on Saturday in a doubleheader at Pete Lien Field.

The Outlaw Baseball Club scored seven runs in the fifth inning and the team from Miles City defeated the Stars in the first game, 12-1.

Although Post 320 outhit the Outlaw Baseball Club 5-4 in the second game, the Stars lost 8-4.

Tegan Sayles, Porter Muck, Jhett Peterson, Nolan Williamson and Julian Hester each colleted a hit for Post 320.

The Stars fall to 0-4 on the season.

Post 320 will conclude their three-game series with the Outlaw Baseball Club with the final game on Sunday at 10 a.m.
