First Alert Weather: Times of rain, risk of storms & gusty winds this weekend
Some sun is possible on Saturday, but that will be sandwiched by showers with a chance of storms. Wind gusts up to 40 mph possible.
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Early showers Saturday could give way to some sun for the afternoon in parts of Central Wisconsin, however, there is a risk of isolated storms Saturday afternoon into the early evening. The next wave of rain will overspread the region on Sunday, lasting into the first half of Monday. Additional chances of showers with a chance of a storm are in the forecast for Tuesday late day and at night. Wednesday could be the driest day of the next several. More wet weather could be on tap for late in the week.
Clouds will be common for Friday evening as the first batches of showers shift from southwest to northeast across the region. A scattered storm is possible later Friday night into early Saturday morning. Temperatures will settle in the upper 40s to near 50 around midnight, then rise through the 50s toward daybreak on Saturday.
Saturday is the Green & Clean evening in Wausau. Lingering showers could be around Saturday morning, however some dry conditions are possible from late morning into Saturday afternoon. However, if some sunshine does develop, there will be a chance of isolated storms in Central Wisconsin from the afternoon into early evening hours on Saturday. A First Alert that if the storms come to fruition, the main threats with any strong/severe storms would be strong gusty winds, hail up to 1″ in size, and downpours. Breezy and warm on Saturday, with highs ranging from the mid 60s to the low 70s.
Mostly cloudy Saturday night with a chance of showers overnight. Sunday starts with lots of clouds, however another round of rain is on the way from late Sunday morning into the afternoon. The wet weather is expected to persist Sunday night through Monday morning. It will be cooler for the last half of the weekend, with highs in the low to mid 50s.
Showers are expected to wind down Monday morning, otherwise mostly cloudy. Highs in the low to mid 60s.
More clouds than sun on Tuesday, with a chance of showers or a storm later in the day and at night. Highs in the mid to upper 60s.
Wednesday is shaping up to be the brightest day of the week ahead, with a partly cloudy sky. Highs in the low 60s.
Clouds are back for Thursday and Friday. Afternoon showers are possible Thursday into Thursday night. The umbrella still could be needed next Friday. Cooler, with highs in the low 50s Thursday, while in the upper 40s Friday.
