Public help needed in probe of three pit bull puppies' suspected abuse deaths

Animal control officers are now investigating the deaths of three dogs.

The initial investigation found all the puppies died from abuse and were possibly from the same litter.

On Monday April 15, and Tuesday April 16, reports were made to CRAC&C after walkers on the Sac and Fox Trail between Cole St and Otis Rd, located a total of three dead juvenile pit bull dogs.

One was found on Monday, two more were located on Tuesday.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating those responsible for the animals' welfare and those who may be responsible for the abuse.

Animal Control Officers do not believe local trails are unsafe for recreational use or that properly-leashed pets are at increased risk.
