Detroit Lions take a huge step toward Super Bowl with CB filling biggest need

There was no hesitation. No waiting around to see who fell to them. And, frankly, now there are no more excuses for the Detroit Lions not to do exactly what they want to do this year after Brad Holmes traded up Thursday night to select Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold with the 24th overall pick in the NFL draft.

It was exactly what the general manager — and reigning NFL executive of the year — needed to do, filling what was easily his team's biggest weakness with potentially the proverbial "one player away" keeping the Lions from Super Bowl 57 February in New Orleans.
