There is a lot to unpack with the weather Friday and into the weekend, and unfortunately there is still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast when it comes to our strong storm potential.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast on Friday, but it looks like the higher risk for severe weather Friday will stay north of our area.  Overnight we will be watching storms developing to our west. Some of these storms may move into our western counties during the early morning hours Friday, but any of these storms that move into our area will diminish as the push east towards I-35. We could see some redevelopment of scattered thunderstorms through the afternoon, mainly east of I-35.

The fuel for thunderstorms sticks around for Saturday. We will be watching the Dry Line to our west during the afternoon where some spotty thunderstorms could develop. It will be an afternoon where many of us won’t see rain, but any storms that develop could quickly become very strong. South winds will also be very strong throughout the day on Saturday, with wind gusts reaching 40mph at times! Saturday night and into early Sunday morning we will see a line of thunderstorms form along a front moving in from the west.  This line of storms will gradually push east through Sunday morning.

The potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms sticks around through the early-to-middle part of next week.  The warm and humid weather sticks around as well, with highs staying in the 80s.
