CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - A man accused of killing his four-year-old daughter pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Thursday in Clermont County Common Pleas Court.

Christopher Hoeb, 53, is expected to be sentenced on June 11. Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge Haddad says there is a recommended sentence of 7-10.5 years in prison.

Hoeb and the mother of the child, 41-year-old Tamara Banks, were the sole caretakers of the 4-year-old girl.

On Jan. 21, 2022, Hoeb and Banks found their daughter unresponsive and called 911, according to Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve.

The prosecutor said the girl was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where she was determined brain dead. She was taken off life support three days later.

An autopsy was later performed, and the coroner ruled her cause of death as diabetic ketoacidosis.

Tekulve said the child had diabetes and the suspects failed to diagnose or treat her for a long time.

Additionally, prosecutors revealed that not only did the child have diabetes, but the parents were mostly feeding her Mountain Dew through a baby bottle. As a result, her teeth rotted and she had almost none left.

“Due to the neglect and abuse by her parents, [the child] suffered for a majority of her short life,” Tekulve previously said.

Banks pleaded guilty on March 19 to one count of involuntary manslaughter. Her sentencing is scheduled for May 24.
