It wasn’t long after I became pregnant with my sixth child that my husband and I decided to find out whether we could expect a little sister or another brother in our family. During the ultrasound, we were unable to tell the baby’s gender, but my health care provider noticed that the baby was very small and their fluid levels too low. My prenatal care was immediately transferred to the highest-level provider, who instructed me to come back on a weekly basis for monitoring.
