DRY RIDGE, Ky. (WXIX) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Saturday morning in Grant County.

The crash happened in the 1500 block of Sherman Mount Zion Road at 4:19 a.m., KSP said in a press release.

According to Trooper David Jones, a Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling east and went left of center, striking a Honda Pilot head-on that was traveling west.

The driver of the Eclipse, who was not identified in the press release, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office and the driver of the Pilot was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Trooper Jones said.

As of now, it is unknown if there are any other factors that contributed to the crash.

KSP is not releasing the names of those involved at this time.
