SAN ANTONIO - A big event happening this fiesta season is Fiesta on French!

It's a Mardi Gras celebration that is raising money to support local nonprofits helping children with disabilities.

Dozens of people were out this evening, dressed up to enjoy live New Orleans-style jazz and delicious Cajun food and drinks.

Organizers say it's a great time for a great cause.

“It's something that we started for two reasons. One is to give back to our community and make a difference. And two, keep our social network going,” said Abe Juarez with Fiesta on French. "Our family is involved, our boys are involved, their friends, they all volunteer. It's just a great event. When you’re here, it's so busy there are things you'll miss, but everybody’s with a smile on their face, just having a good time.”

The event also includes a roulette table, tarot card reading, and a drag queen show featuring some of the best talents in San Antonio.

This will be the third year for the event, and the Fiesta Commission will be out this year to evaluate it to become an official Fiesta event next year hopefully.
