2 people injured in head-on crash in California City

Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) — Two people were hospitalized after two UTV's crashed head-on in California City, according to the Kern County Fire Department.

KCFD said the off-road crash happened in a rural dirt road south of Jawbone Canyon Road on April, 20, 2024 at around 10:56 a.m.

Firefighters said the driver of one UTV's was in critical condition and taken to the hospital in a helicopter.

The other driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The Fire Department encourages safety precautions when participating in outdoor activities.
