A fire broke out at a home in Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon, city officials said.

Firefighters responded to 89 Hastings St. around 12:30 p.m. and found a fire blazing in the attic of a 2½-story home, according to a spokesperson for the City of Bridgeport.

Everyone who lived in the home got out safely, and the fire was under control within 45 minutes, officials said.

No injuries were reported in the fire. Anyone displaced and in need of shelter was being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office, the city said.
