Chi Maek has opened near Tanger Outlets with Korean-style fried chicken.

The owners of Poke Bowl Station near Tanger Outlets have remade their restaurant as Chi Maek, an eatery that features Korean-style fried chicken.

Korean-style fried chicken is typically made with a wet batter and coated with a thin layer of potato starch and then fried twice, resulting in a crunchier texture.

At Chi Maek, the fried chicken options include wings, strips, drumsticks and thighs served with pickled relish or coleslaw. The menu also includes chicken tatsu (breaded chicken cutlet), Japchae (sweet potato starch noodles with vegetables) and bulgogi (thinly sliced and marinated ribeye with mushrooms). In addition, there are fish tacos, fried rice and six kinds of bibimbap, which is a traditional Korean rice bowl that includes vegetables and a fried egg.

Chi Maek takes a spot in East Lancaster Plaza, a 7,600-square-foot commercial building that includes Chipotle, SuperCuts and Jersey Mike’s.

Poke Bowl Station has restaurants in Millersville and along Fruitville Pike in Manheim Township. All three restaurants are owned by Tu Qiang Huang and Yan Qiu Chen who live in Manheim Township. Originally from New York City where they owned a sushi restaurant, the couple moved to Lancaster County several years ago.
