Apple is finally expected to introduce the Calculator app for iPad that has been missing since the 1st-generation iPad that launched back in 2010. The company is expected to launch the Calculator app for iPad with the iPadOS 18 update. Also, the new Calculator app is expected to be a part of Apple’s unified app experience across all its platforms.
MacRumour has reported that the Calculator app will be a “universal” app which will be made available across multiple platforms, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS 15.
This move aligns with Apple's approach of providing coherent features and iCloud compatibility between operating systems. Apple is also expected to introduce a new Calculator app for macOS with the next update. It is rumoured that the updated macOS Calculator app will be inspired by the iPad Calculator app.

The features are also supposed to be shared between the two platforms. For instance, a new sidebar for viewing calculation history, dates, and a dedicated toggle button will be added.

The Calculator app will also receive upgrades to its unit and currency conversion capabilities. Conversions will be integrated into the main interface, displaying original and converted units simultaneously for ease of use. The revamped macOS Calculator app, alongside the new iPad version, is expected to make its debut at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10.
