Golden Boy are more than open to lining up a team of their fighters to take on Bob Arum’s Top Rank in a team competition.
Golden Boy and Top Rank are huge promotional groups in America and there’s numerous high-profile bouts that could take place on such a show with Arum and Oscar De La Hoya going at it.
On June 1, Matchroom and Queensberry will face off in a huge 5 vs. 5 event that will see multiple big fights including Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang.
If the show is a success, it’s likely to lead to many more promotional battles and Eric Gomez, a prominent figure at Golden Boy, is happy for his company to take part.
“We are open to do that with anybody,” said Gomez when speaking to BoxingScene.
“We were approached early this year from Top Rank and Bob Arum, and he wanted to get something together.”
