PERMIAN BASIN (KMID/KPEJ) – Here are some of the events coming up this week across the Basin for the week of April 28th.

From Wednesday, May 1st through Friday, May 3rd, law enforcement agencies across the Basin will be hosting 11th Annual Bustin’ For Badges Clay Shoot at the Windwalker Farms in Martin County. Monday, April 29th

  • Medical Center Hospital will be raising awareness and educate young teens of the dangers and risks involved with opioids, including fentanyl, with its “Facing Emergency Narcotics in Texas” class. The class is open to those who register. You can learn more on the MCH Facebook page here.

Tuesday, April 30th

  • Howard College will be hosting a blood drive in the Fireplace Room in the SUB from 10am to 2:15pm. Donors will receive a t-shirt, Sonic coupon, and a chance to win a gift card. Appointments are encouraged. You can learn more here.

Wednesday, May 1st

  • The City of Andrews will also be hosting a blood drive at the Municipal Court Building from 10am to 2pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but the City said a reservation could save donors some time. You can learn more about how to reserve a time slot here.
  • The Ellen Noel Art Museum will be hosting “Demo and Donuts” at 11am, featuring a live demolition of the former façade of the Ellen Noel Art Museum, as part of its $20 million renovation. You can learn more here.

Thursday, May 2nd

  • Ector County ISD will be hosting its “Sextortion: Educating Ector County ISD and Protecting Our Students”  virtual event beginning at 6pm. Sessions will be in both English and Spanish and is intended for any ECISD staff, parent, or caregiver who may be concerned with their child’s safety online. You can learn more about the event here.

Saturday, May 4th

  • The Midland Downtown Famers Market will be taking place from 8am to noon at 404 N Colorado Street. A variety of vendors will be there selling a lot of different products. You can learn more here.
  • The West Texas Symphony will be putting on its season finale, titled “Fantasy!” at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center starting at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $33 to $60 and student tickets cost $12. You can learn more and purchase your tickets here.
