Thailand sees limited impact of Israel-Iran conflict on economy, ministry says

BANGKOK (Reuters): Thailand's finance ministry has announced that a conflict between Israel and Iran should have only a limited impact on the Thai economy, provided that the conflict does not spread.

The economy will continue to be supported by fiscal policy and the ministry is closely monitoring the situation, it said in a statement.

Thailand has little trade and investment with Israel or Iran while visitors from both countries accounted for just 1% of total foreign arrivals last year, the ministry said.

However, it added a stock market fall on Wednesday was driven by the conflict, with the main stock index down more than 2%.

Last week, the ministry said it expected more than 4% economic growth this year on property market measures. The economy expanded 1.9% last year.
