Penn softball team participates in Big Balloon Build popping party

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - Sunday marked the final day for Michiana to enjoy the sights of the Big Balloon Build at the Northern Indiana Event Center. Afterward, there was only one thing left to do!

The popping party took place earlier this afternoon, and they got help from some heavy hitters: the Penn High School softball team!

More than 75 balloon artists from across the country made the trip out to put on a once-in-a-lifetime event.

“What I loved even more about this was the turnout,” said Marissa Matthews, a builder with Twisted Sisters. “The amount of kids that came over, those who got to see the entire event. I think we did one of the biggest events that we’ve done in the Big Balloon Build yet!”

The proceeds from the four days will go toward the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana.
