The case is under investigation by Lowell police, State Police, and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

A Lowell man called police to tell them he had fatally shot his wife and daughter before shooting himself early Saturday morning, police said.

The man, who has not been publicly identified,  called 911 at about 6:40 a.m. Saturday morning reporting that he has shot his wife and child inside a Warren Street apartment, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a press release.
