One stat to know about each of the Rams' 10 draft picks

By most accounts, the Los Angeles Rams came away with an impressive draft class in 2024. They started with 11 picks but after trading up on Day 2, they finished with 10 total selections, five of which came on defense.

They targeted older, more experienced players who can contribute earlier rather than later, which should bode well for the team in 2024. Many of the prospects they drafted put up impressive numbers in college, too, whether it’s Blake Corum’s touchdown total or Braden Fiske’s ability to generate pressure.

Here’s one stat to know about each of the Rams’ 10 draft picks, beginning with Jared Verse out of Florida State.

Round 1: OLB Jared Verse

Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: Ranked 9th in pass-rush win rate (21.2%) last season

Verse had nine sacks last season, which isn’t necessarily an eye-popping number. However, his pass-rush win rate of 21.2% was the ninth-best among all edge rushers in 2023. He also ranked 12th with 52 total pressures, consistently getting after the quarterback.

Round 2: DT Braden Fiske

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 109 QB pressures since 2022, 4th-most among DTs

Fiske is stout against the run but he’s an even better pass rusher. According to Pro Football Focus, he ranked fourth among all defensive tackles in the nation with 109 quarterback pressures since the 2022 season.

Round 3: RB Blake Corum

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 45 rushing TDs since 2022 (most of any player)

Corum lived in the end zone the last two years, scoring 45 total rushing touchdowns since 2022. That was the most of any running back and the highest total for any skill player. He scored in each of the last 26 games he was healthy enough to finish.

Round 3: S Kamren Kinchens

Stat: Only player in FBS with 10-plus INTs since 2022

Kinchens was one of the best defenders in the country when it came to forcing turnovers the last two seasons. His 11 interceptions were the most in the nation since 2022, making him the only player in the FBS with at least 10 interceptions in that span.

Round 5: OLB Brennan Jackson

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: Had two fumble returns for TD in one game last season

As noted in the tweet below, no player in the FBS in the last 20 years had more than two fumble returns for a TD in a single season. In one game against Colorado, Jackson had two recoveries that he returned for touchdowns, totaling 114 yards. That gave him three fumble return touchdowns on the year.

Round 6: DT Tyler Davis

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 91.1 run defense grade since 2022 was 3rd-best among DTs

Good luck running at the big man in the middle. According to PFF, Davis ranked third among all defensive tackles with a run defense grade of 91.1 since 2022. The Rams got themselves a run-stuffing defender to help up front.

Round 6: K Joshua Karty

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 97.0 career PFF grade is 1st among all college kickers

Karty was incredibly accurate from 40-plus yards, making 24 of his 27 attempts since the 2022 season. That helped him earn a career PFF grade of 97.0, which was the highest grade of any college kicker since 2021.

Round 6: WR Jordan Whittington

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 27 forced missed tackles in the last 2 seasons

Whittington is not an easy player to get on the ground despite not necessarily being the biggest or fastest player on the field. According to Dane Brugler of The Athletic, Whittington forced 27 missed tackles in the last two years combined.

Round 6: OL Beaux Limmer

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: 39 bench press reps at 2024 NFL combine was 7 more than any other OL

Limmer is a physical freak with otherwordly strength. He put up 39 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the combine, which was seven more than any other offensive lineman and five more than any other player at any position. According to Brugler, he also squatted 700 pounds in 2023 and could’ve done more if the strength coach let him.

Round 7: OL KT Leveston

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Stat: Allowed only 2 sacks and 14 hurries in 923 snaps last season

Leveston improved last season in his second year as a full-time starter at left tackle. He allowed only two sacks and 14 hurries in 923 total snaps played in 2023. He’s likely to move to guard in the NFL but those are good numbers for a left tackle.
