I say 'free', but the titles are actually bundled in with your Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus subscriptions. So you're not paying any extra for them out of pocket, although there are some massive discounts on a bunch of Fallout games if you're not a subscriber.

The Fallout TV series dropped on Prime Video last week with all eight episodes landing on the service for Amazon Prime members to binge unashamedly. And binge they have, because judging by the recent spike in Fallout game sales, the TV show has left a lot of you hungry for more wasteland adventures.

Sales for Fallout 4 have surged by over 7,500% in Europe according to GSD digital data (via GamesIndustry.biz), which tallies up games sold in the region across Steam, the Xbox digital storefront, the PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop. Of course, Bethesda has helped that along a little by slashing the price of its Fallout library on console and PC, as well as pushing out a free next-gen update for Fallout 4 which goes live on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S next week on Thursday, April 25.

And while news of a free update is always welcome, you can pick up Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 for free right now if you're a PS Plus Extra subscriber (with the benefits of this tier also applying to PS Plus Premium members). Sadly, Fallout: New Vegas (arguably the best game in the series) isn't available on the platform at all. But if you hop over to Xbox Game Pass, you're in for a real treat.

This is what happens when you drop a cool $7.5 billion to get your hands on Bethesda's game library. You can bundle up every single Fallout game and offer them as an Xbox Game Pass perk. There is a caveat: while the entirety of the Fallout game series is available to Xbox Game Pass PC members, console players don't have access to Interplay's Fallout titles (Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel) with their subscription.

If you don't have subscriptions to either service, but you're a Prime member, this month's Prime Gaming drop includes Fallout 76, with Amazon adding Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas to the lineup after realising that no one cares about the MMO. Well, that's my theory anyway. Seriously, don't waste your time. New Vegas or Fallout 3 are the best jumping-off points with Fallout 4 a distant second.
