What passes for regulation by the state of Ohio of oil-and-gas fracking and its byproducts sometimes seems more like friendly mentoring rather than policing in the public interest.

Example: Cleveland.com’s Jake Zuckerman recently reported that the Ohio Oil and Gas Commission, made up entirely of appointees of the governor, finally agreed to an Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) order halting the operation of three leaking fracking-waste deep-injection wells in Athens County’s Troy Township.
