EUGENE, Ore. – A man is facing charges of robbery after allegedly demanding money from a bank at knifepoint and then waiting outside for the money, court documents say.

According to court documents, a man later identified as Roger George Albi, 65, walked into the Wells Fargo bank on east Broadway on April 24, pointed a knife at employees, and told them he was robbing them. Then, court documents, allege, he said he wanted the money to be delivered to him and that he’d be waiting outside. He then apparently left the bank and sat on a bench across the street.

Instead of money, Eugene police arrived instead to arrest Albi. He was taken to the Lane County Jail and, on Thursday, was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery. Court documents also show Albi is currently on probation from a previous robbery conviction. He is due back in court on May 30.
