HOUSTON (CW39) – A major crash occurred Thursday morning at I-45 and FM 519, all main lanes remain blocked in both directions.
TxDOT is urging drivers to seek an alternate route. Expect delays if travelling to/ from the coast.
The official report form TranStar was received at 6:10 a.m. The lanes finally reopened around 12:40 p.m.
La Marque police said that the crash did involve a fatality. They said that their preliminary investigation showed that a pedestrian that was with a disabled vehicle was struck by multiple vehicles and was confirmed dead.
Police also recommend to use Highway 6 and Highway 3 as alternative routes.
