Three-time Grammy-winning country music artist Miranda Lambert will perform at Peoples Natural Gas Field, home of the Altoona Curve, on June 7 to kick off her “Music on the Diamond” concert series. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

“It’s just great timing, a great way to start the summer,” said Jon Mozes, director of communications and broadcasting at the Altoona Curve. “Our fans have engaged with us, saying that they’re interested in coming to the park even when we don’t have games.”

Lambert has been named Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, was the top streaming female country artist of 2022, was included on the TIME 100 list honoring the world’s most influential people and was dubbed by NPR as “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

Her name will join other famous acts to have performed at the Curve’s home field over years, like Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Eddie Money and Counting Crows.

Music on the Diamond is an “innovative collaboration” that opens Minor League ballparks with “new avenues for engaging with fans and communities beyond baseball,” according to a release from Diamond Baseball Holdings.

Mozes said that this series is a part of a new initiative that is meant to attract similar acts annually.

According to a release, the concerts are “expected to expand to more artists and ballparks over the coming months and years, with updates announced throughout the year, promising even more opportunities for fans to experience the magic of ‘Music on the Diamond.'”

“Bringing exciting new events and experiences that foster community and draw more people to our ballparks … is a momentous occasion for us,” said Pat Battle and Peter Freund, executive chairman and CEO of DBH, respectively. “Whether you’re catching a glimpse of the Skyliner rollercoaster just beyond the right-field wall at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona … Minor League ballparks provide some of the most unique atmospheres for entertainment.”

Tickets for Lambert’s show, which will also feature country singer Jackson Dean, are expected to sell out quickly.

Tickets can be purchased online, in person at the PNG Field Box Office, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., along Park Avenue or by phone at 877-99-CURVE.

Parking passes can be purchased in advance for $25 at the PNG Field red/tan lot and $15 for the parking garage located beyond center field. Tailgating is not permitted in either area.

“We’re still working on finalizing auxiliary parking,” Mozes said.

On show day, gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

After the Altoona show, Lambert is slated to perform June 29 at Momentum Bank Ballpark, home of the Midland RockHounds, Midland, Texas; July 26, Trustmark Park, home of the Mississippi Braves, Pearl, Mississippi; and Sept. 28, at AutoZone Park, home of the Memphis Redbirds, Memphis, Tennessee.
