Elderly man struck and killed while getting into double-parked car in Brooklyn

A Brooklyn driver struck and killed a 77-year-old man getting into his double-parked car Thursday, police said.

The 43-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima heading north on Ocean Ave. in Sheepshead Bay around 4:25 p.m., cops said.

As she approached Avenue W, the victim was getting into his car, which was double parked, they added.

The woman struck the man, who was thrown to the pavement.

Police were called to the scene, where they discovered the elderly victim with trauma to his head and body.

Medics rushed him to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he died.

The driver remained on the scene and did not immediately face charges.

The victim’s name was not released as police worked to notify his family of his death.
