Body recovered from Pearl River after hours-long search
FLOWOOD, Miss. (WLBT) - A body was recovered from the Pearl River after an hours-long search.
Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade says a fisherman called JPD Tuesday evening, stating that he saw a body floating in the Pearl River near the stack, which is located at I-20 and the 49 exit.
WLBT crews responded to the scene near South State Street and Gallatin Street around 8:30 p.m. Multiple emergency units also responded to the scene.
Authorities tell 3 On Your Side that the victim is a male.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office and the Flowood Police Department assisted in the recovery effort.
