Gun Falls From Man's Holster, Goes Off In Apartment: Report

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police reportedly arrested a man after he mishandled his handgun, resulting in it going off inside his apartment.

According to police reports, an apartment resident told police that he accidentally shot his firearm when it fell out of his holster. The bullet went into the ceiling.

Police reports say the man went upstairs to see if things were alright, however, nobody answered.

According to reports, Oak Creek fire department personnel arrived to let officers into the upstairs apartment to make sure people were unharmed. Upon investigation, nobody was home and nothing was damaged.

Police are reporting that the man was arrested and issued a municipal citation for discharging a regulated firearm.
