Man Killed in Commuter Bus/Car Accident Monday Night in East Brunswick

A 75-year-old man was killed in the Rt. 18 crash, which involved a car colliding with a commuter bus Monday night.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - A 75-year-old New York state man was killed in the serious car crash we reported on Monday night on Rt. 18 South in East Brunswick, which involved a car colliding with a Suburban Coach commuter bus.

The accident occurred before 7 p.m. Monday on Rt. 18 South near Eggers Street. East Brunswick police announced the death Tuesday afternoon: Steven Kahn, 75, of Kenoza Lake, NY was driving southbound on Rt. 18 in the center lane when he merged into the right lane. That's when his red 2015 Nissan Rogue struck the driver’s side of a 2003 Suburban Coach commuter bus, which was traveling south in the right lane.

Kahn was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. by Dr. Edward Amores, East Brunswick police said. Nobody on the bus, including its 63-year-old driver, a Neptune resident, was injured.
