Have you hopped on the low carb, high fat keto train and are looking for ways to avoid being derailed? The holidays can be challenging for people following any restrictive eating plan but, fortunately, there are plenty of ways to enjoy this time of year without straying too far from keto’s guiding principles.
Breakfast
French toast, croissants, muffins and other bready foods are staples for breakfast this time of year. Fortunately, these tend to be served alongside things that are absolutely perfect for people on the keto diet, including things like omelets, sausages, bacon and eggs.

Using ThinSlim Foods’ Zero Carb Bread, I have successfully made French toast that I covered in butter and the Lakanto syrup. It was magnificent! Also, for most of my life, I’ve been one of those people who snacks on a bowl of cereal once in a while. I’ve really missed that so I was thrilled to find the Catalina Crunch Dark Chocolate cereal!
You won’t find a Fit Donut counter unless you happen to live near Boise, Idaho but I included it because you may find something similar in your area. Eating a low carb, high protein donut for breakfast almost every morning has helped me stay on track and I plan to continue through the holiday season!
The Big Meal
Unless you give yourself permission to indulge a little — and, really, there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you get back on track — you’ll have to pass on the mashed potatoes, stuffing and candied yams. Fortunately, there are many fantastic recipes you can use to enjoy that big holiday meal without feeling deprived.

If you’re hosting the meal, it will be easy for you to make these dishes for everyone to enjoy. If you’ll be a guest in someone’s home, explain your needs and ask if you can bring your own food. Be sure to prepare enough in case others want a taste!
Desserts
You could make it through the entire day without straying from keto-friendly food but the real challenge might be resisting the temptation of holiday cookies and pies.
