Residents, Pets Escape Livermore House Fire

Fire officials said the blaze is a good reminder to have working smoke detectors in every home.

LIVERMORE, CA — Several residents and their pets were able to safely escape a Livermore house fire early Saturday morning, fire officials said. The blaze was reported on Scott Street at about 2:20 a.m.

Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department crews were able to quickly knock down the flames and limit the spread of the fire to the attic and common areas of the home. The residents, who were sleeping at the time of the fire, were able to safely evacuate.

Fire officials said the blaze is a good reminder to have working smoke detectors in every home. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
