GEORGETOWN, SC (WCBD) – A Georgetown man has been arrested and charged with the kidnapping, assault and burglary of a 77-year-old woman.

The victim reportedly told deputies a man rang her doorbell around 9:00 p.m. on October 7th asking for water.

When she returned with a bottle of water, she said the man forced his way into her home and demanded money. A police report said he then dragged the woman through the house until he found a purse containing some cash.

The report states the man took the money and left through the front door after attempting to wipe away his fingerprint from door handles.

Adam Corbett Morris, 37, was arrested Thursday and transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center.
