For the 17th year, the Loveland community can come together to celebrate the holiday season with Sharon Sheets and the annual Holiday Sing-Along.

“I look forward to it because it starts my Christmas off,” said Sheets, a local entertainer and founder of the sing-along.

For the second year, the event will take place the last weekend of November. Traditionally, it was held in the first week of December.

“It didn’t bother me to move it up, because I think we need move up our timing to remember what Christmas is all about as well,” she said.

The annual Holiday Sing-along will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rialto Theater Center, 228 E. Fourth St., Loveland. The event is free.

“It will be over promptly at (3 p.m.) so they don’t have to commit to any more than an hour,” Sheets said.

The audience is encouraged to get in the spirit of the season by bringing jingle bells and wearing Santa hats. Cookies and cider will be served.

As for music, the audience can expect the familiar Christmas songs they sing year to year for the sing-along portion of the show. Sheets will be changing her selections a little.

“I found two new ones that I liked a lot; that’s a little unusual for me,” she said. In past years, she has only added a new selection every other year or so.

She decided this year to go out looking for some new, fresh songs to include to change the set up a bit.

“They are brand new, hot off the press, popular Christmas songs that I am bringing in for the first time,” she said.

Sheets wanted to keep the new selections under wraps but shared that she chose one song because of its personal feel.

“One of them really has a message from me to the audience. It’s written in first person, and I really like that. I like to go eyeball to eyeball with my audience. It’s very intimate. It’s my goodwill wish to the audience,” Sheets said.
