Alaska State Troopers reported the body of a 25-year-old woman was found floating face-down in the Kuskokwim River Thursday. Meanwhile, officials are still searching for a 28-year-old man believed to have been on board the same boat she was at the time it reportedly crashed.

AST in Bethel said officers found a woman floating in the Kuskokwim just south of the village of Napakiak. Troopers were apparently unable to identify her until she was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage. The young woman was identified Friday as Holly Mayeda, 25, of Bethel, according to AST.

Troopers said a submerged boat was also found - on the same day as the body - across from the boat launch in Bethel. According to AST, the boat is believed to be one Mayeda was last seen in.

A 28-year-old man, Stacey Hoagland of Akiak, was believed to be sailing in the boat with Mayeda. Troopers said Hoagland is listed as a missing person, and Bethel Search and Rescue is currently trying to find him.

Anyone with information about Hoagland or Mayeda should contact the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 543-2294, or the Bethel Police Department at (907) 543-3781.

Editor's note: A Trooper dispatch initially misstated the last name of one of the people involved in this case. This article has been edited to reflect the agency's correction.
