High-profile season openers against ranked opponents haven't gone so well for Georgia lately.

No. 16 Clemson provides another chance Saturday for the 12th-ranked Bulldogs to get off to a fast start.

"I think it kind of shows the character of your team right off the bat," fifth-year senior wideout Michael Bennett said. "We haven't done a really good job in the big games lately in the beginning of the season so it's definitely a time that we can kind of change that streak."

"It's always important to create momentum early so we won't have to worry about that or worry about teams losing ahead of us," senior cornerback Damian Swann said. "If we win, it really won't matter what anybody else does."

Both teams want to leave Sanford Stadium with positive vibes and a 1-0 record.

"It's huge," Georgia offensive tackle Kolton Houston said. "When you win those game ones that are big top 10, top 15 games, that just starts a roller coaster of momentum. Once you get a team that has a lot of momentum, especially early in the season they can become pretty dangerous. It's really important to start fast and get this train rolling."
