DUI Suspected In Mission Viejo Overnight Traffic Stop

A driver was seen swerving in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Los Alisos and Trabuco, officials said. Here's what happened.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — While you were sleeping in Mission Viejo, your Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were keeping the roadways safe. Early Tuesday morning, police services officers noticed a driver swerving behind the wheel and conducted a traffic stop, officials said.

The driver, heading through the intersection of Los Alisos and Trabuco, was pulled over.

"He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI Alcohol," they told us over Facebook.

Residents were overwhelmingly thankful for the action.

"There is no excuse for drinking and driving," Susie Scuderi responded over Facebook. "Thank you for keeping our roads safe."

The OCSD reminds all that "if you are buzzed or drunk, and are considering to drive, please call a ride-share, friend or taxi instead."
